Meat labels are showing up in the cold section of your local grocery store.

"Nutrition labeling for meat becomes mandatory" was written on the CNN Health Blog, February 29, 2012. The title is self-explanatory.

I waited diligently to see how quickly the follow-through would be at local grocers, and noticed the nutritional label on ground beef at Costco last week. Three weeks-- not bad.

Now, like any other food, you can see what the nutritional content of meats are, especially if you keep track of your food intake with a diet or fitness app. I always found that the apps were not exact for meats, so now it's easy to plug-in or create a new food product to maintain a more accurate food journal.
